This story has enough twists to make it difficult to offer more than that without getting into spoilers. Although they may not be twists. There’s a lot of the same type of thing happening to, “Oh Surprise”, help the killer escape police clutches. Plot-wise, the story felt a little weak because of that.

I had heard so much about John Sandford that I decided I really must try one of his books, so where better than the first Lucas Davenport novel. It took me all of three days to read it, because I was hooked from the very first page. A quite ingenious plot, a killer being very precise in his planning, a detective not afraid of bending the rules, a collection of women including two working for news companies, and missed chances allowing the killer to get away with it for so long.
