Daisy is a headlining act at a Denver strip club who seems to fit the stereotype based on how she looks, dresses and talks. She’s unapologetic about herself and events from her childhood have shaped her self perception and drive. Marcus Sloan is a wealthy businessman who is well known and operates above and below the law. His obsession with Daisy seems inexplicable but he’s determined that she’s the one. When Daisy experiences a trauma that threatens to change the essence of who she is, Marcus s

I've only read one other Kristen Ashley book and wasn't impressed with it. I'm not impressed with this one either, although a lot of my Goodreads friends are. Kristen Ashley has a thing for good bad boys and, normally, I love that type of character. Not so much this time. A lot of time I complain about insufficient character development. That is not the case here. In fact, that is what this book is all about. But, I missed the spark between these characters. I didn't feel what it was that attrac

Have you ever had a casual friend with whom you had a good relationship, but not a deep one? This would be person you really liked, but never shared anything too deeply. Then one day, she shares something so personal and BAM, you see every interaction in a different light. You feel a deeper connection in which you know your life will never be the same. This was a 3 star read going into the epilogue. I could never quite grasp Daisy's character and I wanted more of Marcus's POV. I added a full star for the epilogue, which is classic KA. It was nice to get a glimpse of the Rock Chicks and the Hot Bunch!

3.5 Stars
Series note: This prequel novella was published after the other books in the series and presents the story of Daisy and Marcus Sloane's relationship. It can be read either before beginning the series or at its end.

A good start to the series. A quick read, but this doesn't feel like a prequel to me. There is a lot of information that must be in the other books. Just the same, I enjoyed reading it.

A rare (these days) 5 stars for a KA book. Rock Chicks is one of my fav series...I just love the irreverent fun of it! I know every fan was waiting for Marcus and Daisy's story, and that's a lot to live up to. KA got this one just right. I listened to the audio and I thought the narrator captured Daisy perfectly as well.
