Christopher Argent is an assassin for hire who also works for Dorian Blackwell, the Blackheart of Ben More. He’s well known for his effectiveness and also has the reputation of having ice running through his veins. When he receives an assignment through a solicitor to take the life of Millie LeCour, a well known theater actress, he doesn’t hesitate...until that moment arrives and she says something that gives him pause. From then on, Argent fights a connection to this woman that’s he’s never exp ...more

I've fallen in love with historical romance, and this series is one of the reasons why! Anytime a dark, damaged anti-hero can be saved by the love of a good woman, I'm in! Loved this book - not quite as much as book 1, but a close 2nd! Great addition to a fantastic series! ...more

Christopher Argent is known in London as a killer. People pay him to get rid of their problems. He has never left a job unfinished. But when he is given a contract to kill Millie LeCour, a well-known London stage actress, he just can't go through with it. Something about her reminds him of his past. Millie LeCour has a c ...more

An absolutely delightful read.

Millie and Christopher's chemistry palpable and their interactions both verbal and physical are wonderful. It takes a special woman to break through his walls, and Millie with her strength tempered with kindness is

Like the first book in this series, this one is also dark and deep and not at all your typical Historical-Romance. Redemption is a big theme in the series and the author makes truly unredeemable, bad boy heroes, redeemable. This time our hero is a contract assassin who kills for the money. His only caveat is, he won't kill a child.

Millicent LeCour is the talk of London. An acclaimed actress and beauty, she is riding high on the reviews her latest show are receiving. Men are falling at her feet,

The times of this series are violent ones, and the underground crimes are appalling. Yet the author has managed to make "heroes" of despicable men {who seem at first to be beyond redemption}. Something human rises to the top to their own surprise, nay, horror, when they encounter women who are good, yet who are matches for them in courage, etc.

Not for the reader who cannot handle gross or gory subject matter; but I've found the first two books to be cause for deep reflection on the human conditi
