Detective Harry Bosch has one year left with the LAPD under the DROP agreement and he wants to make the most of it. He has a new partner, Lucia Soto, who doesn’t have much experience but has great instincts. And, Soto has a personal relationship to another cold case that she and Bosch decide to covertly

Working in the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, Detective Harry Bosch and his new partner, Rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are given the case of Orlando Merced. Mr. Merced was shot by a stray bullet ten years ago while playing in a mariachi band. He has now succumbed to his injuries. The bullet that was lodged in his spine has now been removed during an autopsy. Bosch and Soto must take a look at this case to see if they can find the shooter.

The Burning Room
4 Stars
When the victim in a 20 year old shooting finally dies from his injuries, detective Harry Bosch and his new partner, Lucia Soto begin investigating only to realize that there is more to the case than meets the eye, and the victim may not have been a random bystander after all.

This was another good one. There were two mysteries in this which was the way the last few books have had. They were both good so this kept my interest throughout the book. Now that I’m almost caught up with this series, I’ve realized that I will miss Bosch when I’m done.

I listened to this one and really liked it. The narrator did a very good job with Harry.
I am just wondering though, how many times Harry is going to be fired. It seems when he can get the job done, they are always kicking him in the back.
Lucia, his new partner was a little different and I am not sure if I agreed with some of things that she did, but possibly Harry had something to do with that.
I am giving this 5 out of 5 stars.

Another Harry Bosch winner.
