Harry Bosch is back with the LAPD, this time with the Open-Unsolved Unit, a new division responsible for closing cold cases. He's partnered with Kiz Rider and their first assignment is the 17-year old murder of a 16-year old biracial girl, Rebecca (Becky) Verloren. It should come as no surprise that Harry and Kiz end up opening the proverbial Pandora's box involving old police department politics.

Harry Bosch is back with the LAPD as part of the Open/Unsolved Unit. His first case is about the murder of a biracial teenager seventeen years ago. The case has been reopened because the DNA found on the murder weapon has now been analyzed and a match has been found. Harry and his partner, Kizman Rider, start weeding through the evidence, trying to put the pieces together.

The Closers
4.5 Stars
Harry Bosch is back on the force and together with his new (old) partner, Kiz Ryder, investigates the unsolved murder of a teenage girl taken from her home. The case takes an unexpected turn when the evidence suggests a connection to white supremacists and the possibility that the LAPD, specifically Bosch's nemesis, Chief Irving, may have been involved in a cover up.
The Closers is one of Connelly's better installments in the Harry Bosch series as the writing is succinct, the ...more

Harry is back on the force & doing what he does best - solving cold cases! He & Kiz are partners once again. As with all Harry Bosch books, it's all in the details - the seemingly unimportant little things that many miss, but not Harry. As always, I loved being in Harry's head, a sometimes very dark place to be. But in The Closers, Harry seems to be in a better place both mentally & physically. There's less of a spiraling mental downfall and more about his expertise at following police procedura

I really enjoyed this one because Harry Bosch is now back on the police force and closing out unsolved murders. He seems to be more in his element when he is with the police and not private investigator. I liked having Kiz Rider back in this book as well. She seems to be the balance for the partnership.
I am giving this 5 out of 5 stars and I have the next one to read in the series, but will take a short break before reading it.

Liked this a lot.
Harry Bosch is out of retirement and assigned to the Open-Unsolved Unit, along with his old partner Kimzin Rider. His return does not please everybody he comes in contact with...
Their first case is an unsolved murder of a 16 year old girl, thanks to advances in DNA and Harry and Kiz's efforts the case becomes more active than unsolved.
