Harry Bosch just gets better and better. This time he's having to see the department psychologist, suspended pending her evaluation of his suitability to return to work. Harry's earthquake damaged home has been condemned and he's surreptitiously investigating a cold case murder of someone who was close to him. It's a recipe for disaster.

Harry Bosch has been suspended and stripped of his LAPD Badge, his official vehicle, and life as he knows it. He’s lost his home, his girlfriend, and his self-control. In department mandated counseling sessions, Harry is forced to examine his actions, express his feelings, and bare his soul about past and present events – something he is not comfortable doing. But unless he can convince the psychologist that he’s not a threat to himself and others, ...more

Suspended from the police force after an altercation with his commanding officer, Detective Harry Bosch has a lot of time on his hands. With lots of time to kill, Harry decides to look into a cold case. In 1961 a prostitute was murdered and left in an alley. No one was ever arrested for this crime. The Last Coyote
3 Stars
Detective Harry Bosch’s life is spiraling out of control. His home has been condemned following an earthquake; he is suspended and forced into mandatory psychiatric counseling after striking his commanding officer, and to top it all off, he feels compelled to investigate the decades old murder of his mother.
This installment is, unfortunately, the weakest in the series, which is disappointing considering that the story of what happened to Harry’s mother has been intriguing f ...more

I am really beginning to like Michael Connelly's writing. These books are really starting to grow on me. I love his Harry Bosch character. You can't help feeling for Harry in The Last Coyote as he searches for his mother's killer. I'm glad to see that Jasmine has come into his life and hopefully he can find some happiness with her. This book kept me interested all the way through and the ending was a complete surprise. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment as Michael Connelly alway

This is #4 in A Harry Bosch Novel.
This one was really all about Harry and what happened to his mother. He finally takes the time to solve his mother's murder and in the process will be making a decision as to what to do in the future.
I found this book to be on of the best so far because it showed Harry with vulnerabilities. I love the writing style and the places we were taken in this book. I even liked the reference to the title that was made in the book. I could definitely see it. But the wor ...more

This was slightly different to the other books in the series as Harry is suspended right from the beginning of the book and looks to investigate the murder of his mother when he was a small boy. It took a little while to get going but then gripped me throughout and would possibly be my favourite in the series so far. Towards the end there a few twists that you didn't see coming in their entirety. Harry is a likeable character but there are some actions in which he proves to be his own worst enem

4.5 Stars review to come

Maybe 4.5 stars. Rounding up. I felt the reader really had a chance to know Harry much more in this book, and I liked the shrink very much. Not sure about the new romantic interest. Hated to see that house go, sigh.
