I've been watching HPR on the news for years but didn't know she had written some books until about a month ago, so I was eager to check them out. I started with this first in the series, of course, and greatly enjoyed it. The plot was twisty and the two mysteries finally merging together into one investigation because of too many coincidences was timed well. I enjoyed reading this first book in the Jane Ryland/Jake Brogan series. I liked Jane and Jake together and hope that Ms. Ryan continues to keep us intrigued with their 'relationship'. The story was good and the ending was satisfying as well as setting up the next story.
I did have a few problems with the story. The plotting was somewhat loose and there were too many likely candidates for 'the other woman' of the book's title. There were also some awkward transitions and dialog. I would recommen ...more
