A couple of months ago, The Lightning Thief was the featured movie on my flight home. I enjoyed it very much and was glad that I had the book in hand. Interestingly, as I read the book, I kept seeing the faces of the actors who portrayed the characters in the movie. While the adaptation from book to movie was better done than most, I'd still have to say that the book was even better. I'm reading my way through the series, and I'm sure that when/if they are made into movies, I'll go see them as w ...more

I have a problem with some of the mythology in this book as several parts are quite wrong. The book itself is entertaining and just plain fun either way. I can also empathize with Percy having dyslexia and ADHD as I have both as well (although my mom and I call ours ADOS - Attention Deficet Ooh Shiny!). Now, if I can find out which of the Greek gods can crash computers being in a room with them, by touching them, or simply standing near them, I'll know which cabin I belong in. :-) The narrator o ...more
