A solid thriller that feels fairly mid of the road for a book that was Booker prize longlisted as first in it’s genre
Dreams died but the nightmare of reality went on

Jack, the protagonist of this novel, is definitely a well done character, even if the whole "semi-orphan tries to raise his siblings" feels a bit Dickensian for a story that features websites. I was pleasantly surprised by this murder mystery. It was perfectly paced, had compelling characters, rose to the level of great writing.

Entertaining thriller. I actually read this as a Booker Prize longlisted book - I’m not sure there’s anything in the themes or writing that would elevate it to that level, but as a thriller it’s definitely one of the better ones and it kept me engaged throughout.
