I wasn't sure to begin with, but ultimately I decided this was a 5 star read for me. It was about so many things and ideas, in addition to being about life on an African farm more than 100 years ago. I found it interesting and thought provoking. Sometimes the writing style seemed a bit clumsy, but for much of the time I thought the writing was startling and/or beautiful.
