I'm glad I joined in the group read of this Baileys Women's Prize shortlisted story of a polygamous, Nigerian family. It ishowcases the strong anti-polygamy stance of the author, and as such it focused on the jealousy, competitiveness and desperation of the wives. The husband is painted as a bumbling fool.
