It took a thousand years, but even I eventually read/listened to 1984. In some ways, I'm glad I've only now read the book so I can appreciate all its aspects and ideas. Orwell created an incredibly dark and unforgiving world ruled by a totalitarian system based on his own experiences, which from today's perspective seems terrifying.
