I read this right after finishing The Paris Wife and followed it with A Moveable Feast. Loved it alone, but all 3 together were fantastic.
This potentially makes me the worst avid reader ever but I found this book very eh... It was interesting from a time period perspective and I admit I learned more than I ever cared to know about bull fighting but I did not care about much else in this read. Jake was the only character I even half liked, the rest are complete prats. It felt like being forced to spend way too much time with a bunch of over indulged and fairly vapid rich kids.
