Meeeeeh :/

I want to love Stephen King's books, but I'm not sure I'm ever going to get there. This was my second of his fiction (I loved On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft) and I'm still very underwhelmed. The Shining has been one of my favorite horror movies my entire life and I've been looking forward to finally reading the book (because "the book is always better!") since I was probably about 10 or 12. Enjoyed it more than the movie. Kinda creepy but not scary. For some reason only the hedge animals freaked me out, probably because they reminded me of the Weeping Angels from Dr Who (which totally scare the crap out of me). 😬 Halloran was my favorite character by far.

This has been on my TBR for awhile now. I was surprised at how different it was from film and have to say I like to book better. I don't know if I am just numb these days or what but I cant say that i was frightened by this book. It has a definite creep factor to it. I thought is was very well written.
