I was so surprised by this book!I loved the surrealistic magic story and I'm a sucker for spiritual stories of finding Meaning and Growth(though I'm not religious).The only thing I wished it was more of,is actually all that exploration of religion. It could add meaning and philosophy to the story.A very spiritual beautiful beginning,drifting in a survival story and fading away. I do not want to be accused of a life of, “dry, yeast less factuality” so I will take the leap and trust with faith that Pi indeed survived a shipwreck with Richard Parker as his sole companion. Pi told a story full of horrific, graphic moments of intensity, followed by a much needed breath of wit and humor when the sadness got too deep. A twisted story of fate, faith and fantasy.
