Rereading this I realized I missed so much the first time around. Don't get me wrong I loved it the first time around, but you are introduced to so many characters and plots. This time around I really got to sink into it and enjoyed just as much as the first time if not more. This is definitely one of my favorite series.

A game of thrones is the first book in the “a song of ice and fire” series by George RR Martin.
It's an epic fantasy, written as a limited third person narration, separated by chapters, unlike other books where you switch in the middle.
It's not my favourite book in the series, that would be ASOS, but this book was intended to be the first part in a trilogy, so it's a better stand alone book than any of the others, it has a beginning, a middle, and an end.
