What a quirky story this was. There was definitely a competitive spirit between the husband (Nick) and the wife (Amy) and not in a sportsmanship sort of way! When one had been scorned and disrespected it was up to the other to one up their partner. The characters in this book were very well written and very believable although they sometimes sickened me with how perverse they could be. OKAY I HAVE A LOT TO SAY
So to ease it up for the readers i'll write the standard review(the one which does not contain spoilers) first and then just below it the one more detailed one

STANDARD REVIEW-
I must say everyone who comes across the name of this book should do themselves a favour and read it becasue it is no secret that this is a fantastic novel with even fantastic characters. They are flawed,real, smart and lovely in their own way. The striking feature of the novel is that it is written OKAY I HAVE A LOT TO SAY

STANDARD REVIEW-
I must say everyone who comes across the name of this book should do themselves a favour and read it becasue it is no secret that this is a fantastic novel with even fantastic characters. They are flawed,real, smart and lovely in their own way. The striking feature of the novel is that it is written with two povs shown alternatively which is really great and is even better to understand the complex character of Amy(yes she is pretty something). So if you want to go on a thrilling ride and try something of a non linear yet really mind boggling story, catching you off guard kinda ending go ahead read it.

DETAILED REVIEW(!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!)
The book kicks off so good and is one of the strongest beginnings i have read. The star of the book is definitely Amy for me though she is insanely psychotic,manipulative , calculative but she is a product of the methods of her past(her growing up), Nick Dunne is another favorite character(this never happens that i like both the characters but hey gotta give it to GILLIAN FLYNN) who is shown with such a raw,real side ..you come across many Nick Dunne's in your daily life, you see the reasons and actions to explain the way he is programmed in daily life,I feel he is a very real yet complex character. The writing of Gillian is so well carried and planned out that there is not a single point in the book where you will find yourself off the hook....she has her ways with surprises, with character development, with confiding, with sharing and even with the way story unfolds.......I REALLLY LOVED THE WAY SHE FRAMED AND BASICALLY WROTE AMY'S CHARACTER....it isin't one of your 'sweet to eyes' heroine....Amy is smart, a planner, psychotic and the last excerpt of Amy is one of the best ways you could end the story
My fav quote has to be :- well i dont have a fav quote bit i really liked the first chapter of part2 (pg 247)...i liked how Amy described us fully her birth, the cool girl concept, diary amy, infedility basically the whole chapter ...more

I tried this book actually a few years ago. Dind’t get that far than and now, 70 pages in, I’m not gonna read on either. It’s too confusing and detailed, trailing off of the real story.
