I picked up this book because it was free on kindle and it was only 159 pages. I can read this in two hours and get it over with? Great. Not to mention everyone puts Hoover on a pedestal. I will not bash this book. I will just say that throughout this book I found myself not caring. I think breaking this up into three books was a ploy for more money because in this one book nearly nothing important happened.

Every time they talk about how much they must love each other I just rolled my eyes because if that's not a toxic relationship I don't know what the hell is. The only reason I gave this book the extra two and a half stars is because of Silas and the ending. Charlie infuriated me the entire novel. She literally found no information and gave nothing to the cause. Meanwhile, Silas found out about their parents and more about the situation as to why Charlie's life was the way it was. The fact that they couldn't put two and two together pissed me off. Also, Silas' brother Landon seemed like someone who can help, but he didn't tell him. I was so annoyed throughout how this book, albeit being as short as it was dragged on for the 159 pages.

They introduced problems that could've gotten solved in a matter of seconds. Like The Shrimp. Charlie found out about her and watched her walk away. Like... Charlie was so unhelpful and useless and asking for the stupidest things - like "maybe if you kiss me you'll break the curse." What? She literally made me hate this book. I'm sorry but I hated her like everyone else in the book did. She even seemed to have a nasty side even now without a memory.

Long story short, if you read this book, you'll only really care for Silas. Especially since he did all the work and gave this book an actual personality. Charlie had no personality and was practically a robot. I almost yawned every time she talked. The ending however, made me want to go to my local BAM and read the book for free.

Charlie and Silas are trying to remember their lives but can't. Nothing is making sense. It appears that major thinks are going on in their lives and they don't have a clue. They now are trying to like each other again and it's working. But once again strange things keep happening. Can't wait to see what's next. ...more
