I broke the cardinal rule of book reading - I saw the movie before I read the book.
The movie was cute. Bradley Cooper and J.Law set up the movie to be a cute story about likable crazy people. The book told a very different story. This was a book about serious mental illness. Besides the very basic, characteristics of the main characters, almost nothing else from the book matches the movie.
