Life of Pi was about a young man who managed to survive a lot of tragedy which weathered not only his faith and belief but also his knowledge about life. Pi Patel, our protagonist, was a son of a zookeeper in India. Extremely imaginative, beautifully written, left my spellbound. It has got to be one of the best fantasy stories I have ever read. The initial foreboding, the later struggle and finally the survival of Pi is something that made me really ponder over. As they say if we are left out in the wild the humans are the weakest link in the food chain. Now I have to check out some of Yann Martel's other works.
