This has taken me so long to read as I just did not get it. I closed the last page today with the biggest sigh of relief since I finished and detested Queen of the Damned. There were no chapters whic made it very hard to pick up where you left off, I was bored with some of the descriptions which just went on and on and at the end you don't really even get to know why they did it anyway!
