Jane Eyre in Read the Movie

Una novela clásica que ha merecido estar entre mis favoritas. Realmente me ha gustado leerla, disfruté mucho de ella, pasando las páginas queriendo leer más y más. La historia de Jane desde su infancia cruel, transitando su niñez-adolescencia en un orfanato, conociendo a quien fuese su mejor amiga y la posterior pérdida de ella en manos de una enfermedad contraída por las condiciones nefastas del lugar, la han convertido en una heroína a su corta edad (18 cuando llega a Thornfield) y conoce al S Una novela clásica que ha merecido estar entre mis favoritas. La historia de Jane desde su infancia cruel, transitando su niñez-adolescencia en un orfanato, conociendo a quien fuese su mejor amiga y la posterior pérdida de ella en manos de una enfermedad contraída por las condiciones nefastas del lugar, la han convertido en una heroína a su corta edad (18 cuando llega a Thornfield) y conoce al Sr. Rochester, de quien inevitablemente se enamorará, al igual que las lectoras, ya que los diálogos mantenidos entre ellos suscitan que seas la espectadora a su historia de amor o que te metas en la piel de Jane y que te vayas quedando sin aliento a medida que Rochester le revela que es de ella de quien está enamorado y no de Blanche Ingram, como Jane pensaba. La afloración de los sentimientos de ambos (él: cálido, apasionado, atormentado por su secreto; ella: frágil, insegura, apasionada también, con sentimientos, ya que pensaba que al ser la institutriz de Adèle (la protegida del Sr.), no le estaba permitido enamorarse de su patrón, de quien no puede olvidarse cuando decide escaparse tras haberse enterado del terrible secreto de Edward Fairfax Rochester, por lo cual trata de rearmar su vida alejada del único lugar en donde no se sintió rechazada o excluída (Thornfield Hall), ya que al final de la trama se va revelando su pasado y sus orígenes, convirtiéndose en una heredera, ya que su tío ha fallecido y le ha dejado una herencia, con lo cual al enterarse de ello decide dividirla entre sus primos recién conocidos. Posteriormente, decide volver a Thornfield, ya que no pudiendo olvidar a Mr. Rochester, quien quedara ciego y manco debido a un incendio cometido por su esposa, Bertha Mason (una mujer demente que conociese hace 15 años y que contrajo matrimonio por "conveniencia") quien posteriormente cometiera suicidio. Jane busca a Edward, dando con él en otra finca, donde se encontraba a salvo, pero ya triste y siendo un inválido; por lo que nuevamente deciden volver a casarse mientras Jane lo cuida y lo ayuda mientras de a poco recobra su visión.

Diálogo entre Jane y Edward:
Jane: "Do you think I am an automaton? — a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God's feet, equal — as we are!”

It was a very heartwarming novel that moved my heart and my being to the very core of it! I am in love with Jane Eyre's strong hearted character, though hardheaded and very conscious, her wit, opinion, talent in art, her way of words that captures her every being and her purity that sees a person beyond what the eyes can see made the novel so amazing. While not all of this novel keeps to the high standards of other parts of the novel it is easily one of the best I have read in its exploration of the position of woman and the basic choices of life.
