Can't believe I waited 3 decades after first seeing the film before I picked this up to read. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of the intricate, oozing detail that Mr. King bled into this novel. Feel so sorry that the original film veered so far off course from King's original visions. (My only difficulty with the story was associating the activity of the garden hedge animals with currently known para-psychological activities. Way better than the movie, and that's saying a lot. I can't believe they changed the mallet to an axe in the movie! The movie is great, but it looses a lot of the inner trappings that makes King's book so engrossing and terrifying.

Almost done with this one. I was never a fan of elevators and topiaries, but this book is really not helping me cope with either.
