At first I found it a bit tedious and hard to read, but once you go back over the novel and really get an idea of the issues it's tackling it truly is brilliant. After analysing it for my english gcse I discovered other aspects to the novel that I hadn't noticed before. Definitely worth reading once to learn about life in America in the Deep South.

Naturally, any book which is widely studied in schools all over the world, it is treated with suspicion by those who weren’t aren’t forced to read it. Which is probably why it took so long for me to finally get around to it (not that I’ve ever had an issue with school books; I’m pretty sure that I was the only person in my class who enjoyed Of Mice and Men).

I believe that this must be one of the best books I have read, ever. I do not want to spoil the story, but it is a very interesting story about life in a small southern town in the US in the 1930's.
During this book I have been awfully angry, upset, sad, but I have also been laughing out loud, had a smile on my face and muttered things in agreement.
