To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those books that are only read because teachers tell their students to. "It isn't all that interesting," everyone told me. So when I read its synopsis, I surprisingly found it interesting. Here I was, wanting to read a classic book, yet no teacher has assigned me to even pick it up. Eventually, I reserved it as an audiobook on CD at the library. It was about time I read it.

Listened to this audiobook version in order to participate in a classics books discussion. I didn’t make it in time, but was very glad to listen to this classic novel. Sissy Spacek was a wonderful narrator, and brought this story to life again for me. It’s amazing to me how this book touches upon so many import issues around race, class, misogyny, and yet all through the delightful point of view of a child. I was glad to revisit it, I seem to get something new from it each time.

Surprised that trial is such a small part of the book and tthat Boo Radley is always in the background seemingly only so he has a reason to show up at the end. Not really sure why this is a classic.
