I have never watched the movie related to this book, so I had no idea what to expect when reading Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson. This is a children's novel and I found it quite similar to Where the Red Fern Grows, great riding, but incredibly sad story.

Jesse is a young boy with no friends and a resentment towards the world, until he meets Leslie, his new tomboy neighbor. Leslie opens Jesse up and takes him on adventures to the woods outside their house, which they've dubbed Terabith
