After the wild ride that was When No One is Watching, I decided that it would be the perfect time to pay a visit to Anne and the village of Avonlea and picked up Anne of Avonlea. I'll admit that I had forgotten chunks of this installment in the series, partly because it has been a while since I've read this (my junior year of high school), and because the movie is a combination of this and the next two books in the series. I loved Anne of Green Gables, but I found the children in this sequel very irritating (particularly Davy, but Dora and Paul weren’t much better). I think I prefer seeing grown-up Anne interact with other adults as I still enjoyed those parts of the book. I am willing to give the next book a try, but I don’t think I can stomach another book about Davy.
