What Members Thought
Difficult to rate. I don't think it is a tree-star book but neither do I think it is a four-star one. I have to admit that despite the promising premise of the book I found myself confused by the plot and writing on several occassions. However, I think I will read the second book too just to see if it improves.

A great start to Pullman's Trilogy, where we meet Lyra, the main character in this book, who also happens to be the hero. Lyra begins to learn that all is not as it seems, even her beautiful mother and her charming father.
