Izabel - She can do no wrong in my book. She is, and will always be, the most amazing heroine I have read about. I love her more and more every book!

Jessica why do you do this to my feelings?! Why??????

I have a confession. When I found out The Black Wolf would be about Niklas, I was less than thrilled. I was hoping the 5th book would be about Fredrik, who along with Victor, is my favorite character. While I never hated Niklas, I was never really interested in him either. But by the end of the book, my feelings and my interest in this character were completely changed.

I have a confession. When I found out The Black Wolf would be about Niklas, I was less than thrilled. I was hoping the 5th book would be about Fredrik, who along with Victor, is my favorite character. While I never hated Niklas, I was never really interested in him either. But by the end of the book, my feelings and my interest in this character were completely changed.

In The Black Wolf, Niklas finally gets his time to shine, as this book is told primarily from his POV and Izabel's, and their relationship is front and center. More so than even Izabel' and Victor's relationship. Niklas is still reeling from the betrayal of his brother. He spends his time drinking at a bar and sleeping with a prostitute named Jackie, and wants nothing to do with Victor unless it involves getting revenge on him. However, when Izabel and Nora come to him with an offer, it's apparently an offer he can't refuse, and here is where things got really interesting for me. While these books are action packed it's the tangled, complicated relationships between all of these characters that keep me coming back for more.

Victor decides to send Nora and Izabel on a mission to Italy to infiltrate the home of a sadistic madam who trains kidnapped young women to be the perfect sex slaves into order to sell them off to the highest bidder. Because of the nature of the mission and Izabel's history as a sex slave for 9 years, he will only allow her to go if Niklas agrees to go with her. Even after everything that has happened between Victor and his brother, he still trusts him more than anyone. He trusts him with the most important person in his life, and knows that no matter what happens on the mission Niklas will protect Izabel with his life.

Niklas agrees to go with Izabel and Nora to Italy where he poses as a wealthy businessman, Izabel his girlfriend, and Nora as his submissive. From the moment Izabel approaches Niklas in the bar with the offer, I was sucked into the their relationship, if you can even call it that. They have always had a complicated and tenuous connection that was only held together by their love and loyalty to Victor. They have gone from murderous hatred of each other to complete distrust to tacit acceptance of each other. There has never been any love lost between them. But during the course of this book, their relationship turns into so much more. Niklas is fiercely protective of Izabel and it isn't only because of his loyalty to a Victor. While he is frustrated by her he is also drawn to her, to her humanity, to her will to survive. For her part, Izabel gets to see a different side of Niklas. He's still the controlling over the top bastard he always was, but he also has a compassionate side she's never seen before, and being on this mission with him Izabel sees he feels far more than she ever thought possible.

This book had my emotions all over the place, and Jessica is an amazing writer. The fact that this is the 5th book in the series and they still feel new and interesting and the story possibilities feel endless with them proves how talented she is. There are always shocking twists and turns and OMG moments but it's the characters I love and the fact that Jessica can make me feel so many different ways about a them. love Victor and Izabel as a couple and if they ever broke up I would be devastated. But I having said that, I found myself loving Niklas and Izabel too. (Hangs head in shame). Their relationship kind of reminds me of a diamond and how when you hold it up to the light in a certain way you can see different facets and different colors. Niklas and Izabel have so many different facets to their relationship...frustration, compassion, distrust, respect, guilt, maybe even love? And at any given time in any given situation any and all of these dynamics can come out, which is what I found so fascinating. And while I don't really want them to ride off into the sunset together, I'm interested to see where this all goes and how it plays out between Victor, Izabel, and Niklas. Especially after that bomb Victor dropped (which broke my heart. The man is sneaky and always seems to be 10 steps ahead of everyone and I have no idea what the hell he's got planned) and Niklas' final line (which literally gave me shivers).

Some other thoughts:
* Nora is a crazy badass bitch and I love her, but I just don't know if anyone can trust her yet
*Victor has his hands full with the FBI and Vonnegut and now he can add the Moretti family to that list of people after him. Poor Victor.
*i love Izabel and her humanity and I don't want her to ever get rid of that even if it makes her a better assassin like Nora. Her humanity sets her apart.

This series just keeps getting better, and better. The Black Wolf is one of my favorite volumes so far. Nonetheless, I wish Victor leave everything the F*#% alone, but I know is not going to happend (and this twist is not only unfuckingbeliavable, but fant WOW! WOW! HOLY HELL! BLOODY BRILLIANT! I'll always had the feeling Niklas was falling for her, but never thought she was going to have those kind of feelins for him in return. At least we got to know more about Niklas (the good, and the bad, as well for the dark, kinky and disturbing sides of him).

The mission: play the role of a wealthy German investor and kidnap a beautiful, notorious madam named Francesca Moretti. No stranger to these types of roles, Niklas is the best man for the job, but this time the risks will be much greater as he will not be doing it alone. Izabel Seyfried, still fresh out of a life of imprisonment and sex slavery, could be negatively affected by the things she will see in Moretti’s mansion, and Niklas must keep her in line so she does not blow their cover and get them killed.

But Niklas isn’t the only one who must play a role—Nora takes on the humiliating task of playing Niklas’s slave, and Izabel must play the role of his lover.

On one hand, Niklas couldn’t be enjoying himself more. On the other hand, the emotions that continue to rage inside of him may be too much for him to control, and it may be Niklas—not Izabel—who needs to be kept in line. He cannot forget what Victor has done, and this mission may just be the beginning of his downward spiral.

Niklas is dark, dangerous, handsome, a badass and he don't play well by the rules.
SERIOUSLY? What just happend here? HOW FU&%$#ING FREAKING GOOD THIS SERIES CAN GET? DID ANYONE SAW THIS COMING?

This is one of things I love about authors like J. .A. Redmerski, they know how to keep us enthrall and captivated with their awesome stories. The Black Wolf's writing is phenomenal and addictive. So well written that I couldn't put my tablet down, I just wish the story kept going or the next installment was almost out because I can’t wait to see how things play out for Niklas, Izabel and Victor.

J. .A. Redmerski is one clever and amazing story-teller, not just an extraordinary writer, which in my personal opinion defines her work as UNBLOODYBELIEVABLY FANTASTICALLY BRILLIANT!

Hands down amazing. I devoured every word of it in one sitting. I was left wanting more and with my head spinning. I loved it. I love this series so hard. I never want it to end.
