Holes is a great book to read about the old days because this book is set in the desert were teens are digging holes besides prison. But stanley was just walking and was hit in the head with a pair of shoes that were droped from a building and was framed for stealing them from a famous baseball player and had to go to prison or go dig holes at camp green lake.

Holes was a brilliant book where there was lots of misery and adventure. But I think the best part of the book is how everything comes together and the flash backs to the past. for example *spoiler alert*
the characters great grandparents have both met before and nearly everyone is somehow connected. so much better than the movie.
