Book 5: A Bildungsroman (Coming-of-Age Novel)
Art is not always easily understandable. It is oftentimes offensive. It's rarely pretty and tied up in a perfect little bow. Sometimes not everyone agrees with it. I understand this, and I also am under the impression that this book was loosely based on the author's upbringing so I can also understand how this may have been cathartic for her to write.
