I was kind of disappointed that there was no hot air balloon in the book. I was also surprised that I felt it would be a classified as a young adult book today (or at least I felt that way.) I would also not say it was science fiction today. It was written in 1874, and maybe then it could have been science fiction. I did like the fact he tried to put in cultural tidbits of the countries visited. Some I felt were stereotypical, but then again it was written in the 1800. Overall I enjoyed it, even
