I believe I read this when I was a girl, but I don't remember the plot or an emotional response to the book. I just read an abridged version aloud to Katie (who is 8 tomorrow) and we both loved it, although the editing was a little rough. Katie laughed as I choked out the final chapters in tears. ...more

This was such a lovely little young adult book. I don't think I would have liked it as a real young kid, but probably should have been reading this instead of all the V.C. Andrews crap I read in Jr. High and High School. It had so many great little one liners, and I just loved Anne as a great strong, young, female main character. ...more
