I found it tough and boring to read "One Hundred Years of Solitude" translated from Spanish by Gregory Rabassa, however, I was to be content with its English version. I still do not know why Edith Grossman did not translate this novel from Spanish since I preferred another of her translation, that is, "Love in the Time of Cholera" in which I found it more readable and amazing. Maybe, the first is concerned with political issues while the other concerned with unending love.

The story. It's perfect. It has a perfect beginning, middle and end. All the histories of the Buendias and their little town of Macondo are tied up like a bow and there is not a single flaw to think about (or cause you to take away stars) after.
