I've spent 2 weeks reading this and it ended a lot like it started. It was much more a drawing room drama than a battlefield epic. By the time we get to the end we're talking about the philosophy of history and free will and wait, what? So, I guess I see what the book was trying to do or I might have disliked it... and I'm sure I'll have to come back to rewrite this review. But in short, I might have preferred more war and less peace. :) ...more
