This is the third book of Gillian Flynn's that I have read! It was also probably my favorite one! It lead me on wild goose chases and and kept me guessing throughout. I loved that the main character Libby is really unlikable because it made her seem so much more real to me!

This story dragged on for so long that I almost gave up on it, and I found much of Flynn's writing awkward and in need of tidying up. As for the plot, characters, resolution, etc, I got the sense that I was not supposed to like anyone or anything in the entire book, which I understand is the author's hallmark, but it also didn't make me think or provoke any emotion beyond queasiness (I'm not good with any descriptions or depictions of barfing.) I feel that all of Flynn's books are overly descriptive. It makes me the reader feel like Flynn thinks her audience isn't smart enough to know what is going on in her stories. I mean she goes in great detail about a character hawking a loogie!
