What Members Thought
I bought this book as soon as it was available in the states because I absolutely LOVED her novel, Small Island; since then it was made into a PBS Masterpiece Theater production, which I've not yet seen. This week, The Long Song was named to the Man-Booker Prize shortlist, so I had to take it out immediately to start reading it. I love it. It seems to blend in well with my current Haiti-related reading phase, since it's set in a sugar cane plantation in Jamaica. I love the voice of the narrator,
