OK, I'm on the second to the last disk of this audio book and I just cannot go on. I don't know if it's the awful narrator which is setting my teeth on edge or the interconnected stories about people I can't keep straight and just don't care about. I cannot bear the thought of getting in my car and listening to another line of this book. I started this novel awhile ago, then had to put it aside for a couple of months. You can do that with some books, but not with this one because it jumps around in time. So I was lost for awhile when I picked it up again. Each chapter reads almost like a short story. Linked Stories, Linked Lives
Jennifer Egan’s acclaimed A Visit From the Goon Squad releases in paperback on the 22nd of this month. It’s a “Must Read” for any generation—but Boomers will especially be nostalgic.

Summary: Egan takes us on a thrill ride—not only back in time and forward into the future—from California to Africa to New York—but also inside our own hearts and minds. Do you remember the first time you heard edgy raw talent? Do remember how fresh it sounded and how alive it made you fee

Disappointing after all the hype. Not completely terrible, but not what I expected. At least it was relatively short.
