I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. A compelling story that you cannot put down. However, I felt it could have used more editing. There were unnecesary side-stories and the book tended to drag in a few places. I would have liked to have seen the book condensed more, leaving more room for resolution.
I enjoyed this book more thatn I thought I would. It was a sad story of a child lost, the search by a woman who never gave up, and the discover and retreival of Emma a year later. No happy ending here just a more believable kind of truth.
I was pretty disappointed in this book. I had heard so many great things about it and that a great book for book clubs to discuss. I was really disappointed with how Abby's life ended up in the story. I was disappointed with Jake and just wish the author would have given Abby a happier ending after all she sacrificed for Jake. Frustrating!
