This is a book that I started and put down for a few weeks and then just figured I would finish it during dinner at work this week. I've never read a book by Barbara Delinsky but I can see why readers like her: her characters are easy to relate to with problems that many of us experience like teens who don't want to talk with their parents, widowed parents who are trying to cope and feelings of hurt and resentment over divorce. ...more

A very quick read with a great story about a mother's devotion to family. This book also deals with the topics of peer pressure, family expectations, lies, divorce and alcohol. This would also be a great teen read and a great way to bring up these topics with your teenager. ...more

This reminded me of The Rest of Her Life by Laura Moriarty, but I liked this book much better. What I liked about this book was trying to figure out how the author would resolved the lie with appropriate consequence for the character that we care about.
