I really liked this book.
I finally picked this up from the library after many years of hearing about it. I found that there were many things that reminded me of Lord of the Rings which could have bothered me- but then I decided that most fantasy books kind of do that and it makes sense since if they were true than the characters would be meeting similar characters and locations. ( I can justify it that way right?)
I really liked it though. It was pretty long and I read it in two days over a weekend.

It's not exact ally the most original series by my count, I can see some stands of resemblance to other stories but overall it's a good read.

I am kinda of torn by this series. I have found it fun to read, but I also can't help but notice the all to apparent story lines stolen from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings in this series. Especially Star Wars. Now the vast majority of the book is original but there are so many plot points so close it is hard to justify giving this book a higher rating. So I conclude this series as a guilty pleasure.

It was actually really good. It surprised me. My favorite character was Murtaugh.
