I was very let down with the end if this series. It is no where near as good as Harry potter. I was just sitting waiting for it to end already. The only part I liked was when nasuadua was captured and her and murtaugh were developing a relationship. And the way hey finally ended up killing galbatroix.

After reading that train wreck i.e. Brisingr I was really hoping Paolini would return to form and close out the series with a lot of great action and battles with few filler in between.
Inheritance was a great book that will keep you up past your bedtime and keep you guessing what will happen next.
One of the best chapters that had me on the edge of my seat was To Feed a God. Eragon is hanging from the ceiling, relieved of his weapons and is looking certain death in the face. He can't even use magic to get himself out of this one and is going to be breakfast for the Ra'zac eggs on the floor in front of him that are hatching before his very eyes.
Roran had some great battle chapters that were very entertaining too.
In the final battle when Eragon and Saphera confront King Galbatorix that battle is everything you'd expect it to be very well done.
In the four books I have read I have one major gripe. In book 1 right before Brom dies he tells Eragon seven words and instructs him to "use them only in great need." I was waiting for this to be explained, hoping for it to cause Brom to return and aid Eragon in the final battle perhaps but no the seven words were never mentioned again after book one.
Paolini wanted to wrap up everything (except for the 7 words I wonder if the author of the series forgot his own story) after the final battle and did so in very great detail. That detail took three plus hours to explain in the audio book it was very slow but I can't say I was expecting anything more. The good guys had won the king is dead so he had to answer the question of now what?
All in all you will Inheritance is a very well done book just be aware that the ending gets very drawn out.
Gerard Doyle who is the narrator for the series audio books delivers another great performance in the final book. We met new characters and got to hear him use some new voices including the voice that I was most anxious to hear the voice of the evil king. Doyle did a great job with the series and I take my hat off to him. ...more

Of all the four books Inheritance is undoubtedly my favorite. Even though the ending was foretold in Angela's Prophesy...I still wished it could have been different. The characters were awesome, the plot was superb, and the twists Mr. Paolini threw in there were brilliant. It was almost worth the 4 year wait. Of all the four books Inheritance is undoubtedly my favorite. Even though the ending was foretold in Angela's Prophesy...I still wished it could have been different. The characters were awesome, the plot was superb, and the twists Mr. Paolini threw in there were brilliant. It was almost worth the 4 year wait. As much as I anticipated Brisingr, I was even more anxious for the release of Inheritance. I'm still torn between the cover art. Gleadr looks majestic on Brisingr, but Firnen looks awesome on Inheritance. But as they always say..."You can't judge a book by its cover" I was soon desperately flipping pages and absorbing the adventure trapped between them. And what an adventure it was! The characters seemed so real, that they were hopping off the pages to greet me when I opened to the battle at Beltona. I knew from the moment Eragon captured the Dauthdaert that it would play a part in Galbatorix's downfall. Also, when Arya shot green fire in the battle...I had suspicions about the next, and at the time I supposed, last dragon egg. But I was wrong. The Rock Of Kuthian changed everything for me. From the way i viewed events that had occurred in the previous books, to the power that dragons can wield if they so choose to. Umaroth, Vrael's dragon was also a very interesting character, I also like the metal man with the dragons head, Cuaroc. The Snagli were also very interesting. The process of how Eragon came to know his true name was very real. To truly know your faults gives you a great power, power to know yourself, and power to be able to predict your own actions. This power is not to be taken lightly. As the ancient Chinese Proverb says "The greatest power is the knowledge of self." As in Paolini's world, if an enemy knows your true name, then they can wield great power over you, those enemies who know you closely are usually the most destructive. Such pervading themes fill Paolini's work, making it a wonder to read. I recommend this book to anyone who has read any of his other books, for unless you have read them, you cannot fully appreciate the full gravity, and melodious story telling that is woven within these pages.

YEAHH.
It started with numerous descriptions and the state of war they are in, and that was quite cumbersome a read after pages and pages of it. Kinda like LOTR but more visual, I guess.
There were a lot of rumors regarding Eragon's relationship. Arya? Nasuada?
And how it really ended was epic, funnily enough. Hah. You're no longer a child. Someone's matured, huh? Oh, and Roran has too. His sense of humor rocks.
Gahhh. Awesome. Dunno how to continue - words fail me.
