The Circle is a dystopian novel by Dave Eggers starring the main character Mae Holland. My favorite character by far would be Mae Holland. Her slow descent from a genuine person to a fake and plastic person is very telling, revealing the book's entire purpose; Privacy shouldn't be bad. As the progresses privacy is slowly demonized in Mae's mind. She begins to change her mindset on the idea of privacy. The very end of the book shows her ultimate change.
