What Members Thought
It was gory, as are many of Mankells mysteries. It had twists and turns, revealing the victim and his world a piece at a time. The protagonist was distracted by his own worries and behaved a bit like a self pitying baby, an element that added some more reality to the story even if It made me want to kick him in the butt.
Perhaps my favorite of his books.

Con Mankell si va sempre sul sicuro: storie avvincenti, personaggi profondi e ben caratterizzati, e soprattutto senza quell'aura da "supereroi" che si trova in tanti altri protagonisti del genere.
Immagino che l'ambientazione scandinava - fredda, buia e un poco malinconica - possa allontanare qualcuno, ma a mio parere è perfetta per un romanzo di questo tipo. ...more
