Trovo che in questo romanzo Mankell abbia voluto dare più peso alla storia dell'uomo Wallander più che all'indagine vera e propria. Il risultato è un libro che fa più che altro da ponte tra le opere che lo hanno preceduto e quelle che lo seguono, e questo lo rende probabilmente più difficilmente apprezzabile da parte di chi si può classificare tra i "lettori occasionali" dell'autore svedese.
Per gli appassionati della serie - come me - un romanzo con protagonista Wallander è sempre un piacere. ...more

Another great installment in the Wallander series. A great read with a plot that kept me turning the pages. I do like the ongoing character development of Detective Kurt Wallander, as he emerges from a deeply dark and depressive period. The psychologist in me was wondering how he seemed to get over this long deep period so quickly in the end and would have liked to explore his recovery a bit more. On the whole a fantastic read and I’m looking forward to the next one...
