Another Wallander mystery done out of order. This one was equally good, and like The Man from Beijing, managed to hold my interest -- to the extent of griping when I was interrupted during the last chapter -- despite knowing exactly who had done what and for what reason about halfway through the book. It's really the suspense of how and when Wallander et all will put things together, and what the cost will be to him, that kept me reading.

Really enjoyed this book. Seen a documentary on the writer by the BBC and liked what the guy was saying. The Wallander character was believable in his professional and private life. The supporting characters worked well also and I will probably get round to reading more at sometime. Fancy the original Swedish TV series too.

Very dark and disturbing, but I like his books. Bought this one two days before PBS showed it on Masterpiece Mystery. Not for the faint of heart, but if you want a mystery with some twists and turns, and don't mind that its a bit disturbing, I'd recommend it.

Yet another Swedish mystery writer. I'm telling you, these guys are pretty good...Ok, maybe this book wasn't that good.

After read most of Wallander's mysteries I still can say this is my favorite of all them. :)
