I began reading this book out of a favor to my daughter who thought it would be cool to read the series together. I totally got hooked. How great it is to lose all self control and let yourself fall madly, desperately in love with another. Edward struggles with the fact that he loves this girl so desperately and he wants no danger to come to her and he just can't decide what the safest route to take would be, all the while struggling within himself on what he wants and can't live without. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book when I first started but as I kept reading it, I couldn't stop. Granted, you have to get past the background details which take up a great deal of the story, but once you get past it, its really captures your attention. Once I really got into it, I had a hard time putting the book down. But to be truthful, I think this book is very similar to Harry Potter except in this case there are vampires rather then witches.

My favorite book of all time. It's spectacular. Meyer is an amazing writer and catches the 800 year old vampires tone perfectly while writing from a seventeen year old girls point of view.

LOVED IT.. I went out and purchase the rest of the series. But I was so excited that I purchased book 3 in spanish.. opps.. Yes it is that good that I was just happy to have the book in my hand!
Twilight was my favorite out of the whole series! Bella and Edward are the best couple ever! Warning series is addictive!
