I loved this book I really did people say its a twilight knock off, get a life you idiots,
first this book is WAY cooler than twilight will ever be no matter how many people love twilight.
ok so ive read ALOT of vampire books over the years even before the twilight crap came out been there seen it got the shirt 10 years ago people....geeze and you all called me weird in 10th grade.

A Shade of Vampire:
At first I did not think that I was going to like this book. I had a little trouble with it in the first chapter. However, it managed to pull me in without even realizing it. I am now finding myself hungry to find out what happens to Sofia and Derek.

I'm gonna be honest here. When I first saw the title, I was a little skeptical about it, thinking that it'd be another one of those common vampire stories. But if there's one thing I love is that the book kinda gets you right from the start till the end. To be precise it was when Sofia was taken by Lucas.

I really liked this book. I liked Derek and Sofia and the supporting characters (good and evil, good cast!)I liked the story line and the suspense in this story is great. There were only a couple of minor things that made this a 4 instead 5, in my opinion. Firstly THANK YOU Bella for sending me this book!! I loved it!! The characters were excellent, balancing each other out perfectly. I couldn't put it down once i started.... although not my usual book, normally they would have the sexual element which wasn't there... sexual vibes yes, would love for it to develop more in that area, but it didn't take away the love story that was developing! This book was , simply put, amazing.
P.O.V.: Dual. The point-of -view flowed really easily throughout the story.
Characters: Were themselves. They were each their very on person; they had different flavors to them. They were people you are easily attracted to.
Setting: The setting was very clear. The author was descriptive enough not to be overwhelming, but enough that you easily form a clear mental picture.
Plot: The plot of this story is a good one. It was mysterious up to a point, but you could ...more

It's been a while since I last read a vampire novel in the Young Adult genre. I enjoyed this very much though. The World the Vampires of this story live in seems very interesting and I can see many interesting directions the story could take. I really liked the main characters especially Derek the vampire prince. The cliffhanger ending left me wanting to read more! I recommend this book to fans of authors such as Stephenie Meyer, Richelle Mead, Alexandra Adornetto and Alyson Noel.

Okay wow, this book was amazing. Can not wait to read the next one :D I loved Sofia she was just so amazing, and Derek he really improved as a person throughout the book I was expecting him to be more evil and the book coulda been longer so the characters coulda developed more but really I loved this book. I'd recommend it!

When I first started to read I was not sure if it was for me. Was leary of a seventeen year old thinking this was for young adult. But the more I read it got into The Shade. I am looking forward to read more.
One of the best books I've read in awhile. Now one of my favorite authors. This author is definitely on my must watch list.

A Shade of Vampire was a really great book that I enjoyed reading. It was well written and straight away it had my full attention and I could barley put it down. By the end I was gripping on to the last words, a little disappointed that I read the book to quickly. Thank you Bella Forrest!-For providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for a truthful review of the book. Cannot wait to get the next book and also bye this book paper back.
