i didn't like this book as much as i liked hunger games..it just seemed like the story was kinda slow paced and when the story just get nicer and nicer when the 'game' really starts, it ended! Now i would have to wait till next year!! ugh! I am really hoping for a happy ending, like the capitol will turn out nice and be fair with everyone, unlike what happen with the The Host . It would have been better if there was a second book for it to tell what happened between humans and the souls..Oh wel ...more

Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark won the annual competition described in Hunger Games, but the aftermath leaves these victors with no sense of triumph. Instead, they have become the poster boys for a rebellion that they never planned to lead. That new, unwanted status puts them in the bull's-eye for merciless revenge by The Capitol. Finally! I knew these people were ready to revolt! Collins is very good at keeping her books unpredictable. I appreciate her characterization of the main character, Catniss. Catniss lives in a sea of uncertainty and self-doubt . . . very realistic for a sixteen/seventeen-year-old girl in those circumstances.

I will have a hard time not dropping what I am reading when this book becomes available. I am itching to continue the story. Love the strong female character.

I loved this book. Read one and two right in a row and so they seem like one to me. Love the characters. Seriously could Peta be any sweeter. I really hope they end up together. And I cannot wait for the next one. August is too far away!

LOVED IT. Suzanne Collins is a damn good writer. Once I started this one (as with the Hunger Games) all I wanted to do was finish it but then I was sad that it was over. I can't wait for book three. ...more
