i didn't like this book as much as i liked hunger games..it just seemed like the story was kinda slow paced and when the story just get nicer and nicer when the 'game' really starts, it ended! Now i would have to wait till next year!! ugh! I am really hoping for a happy ending, like the capitol will turn out nice and be fair with everyone, unlike what happen with the The Host . It would have been better if there was a second book for it to tell what happened between humans and the souls..Oh wel i didn't like this book as much as i liked hunger games..it just seemed like the story was kinda slow paced and when the story just get nicer and nicer when the 'game' really starts, it ended! It would have been better if there was a second book for it to tell what happened between humans and the souls..Oh well, i got annoyed when Peeta got injured and the beginning of the game. I was like, What? Injured again? Why does he always seemed to be like a burden to Katniss? But i'm definitely to Peeta if I were to choose between him and Gale because Gale's character wasn't really elaborated. I just knew that he is 'nice' w/c is a general term in describing a person. I also just knew that he was Katniss's hunt mate and best friend..so, there. I was a little annoyed because, this book was like a roller coaster ride, wait, don't react yet! It was like a roller coaster. The reader was well fastened in her seat, well, more like me. Let's say I'm the passenger. And I was anticipating a great ride. Full of twist and all, then the machine starts and the coaster slowly rise, and very little, it accelerates. But for a moment, half of the time, it just kept being like that, just slowly rising and for a moment, you'll get bored. Then the Hunger Games begun. There was the adventure I were anticipating, slowly the coaster would twist to subtle turns, then, there was FINALLY!! It became really nice, there was the alliance and all, then, there was the best twist in the ride, the best it could possibly have! The force field blew, then my coaster skid to a warning less, heart falling, and dismaying STOP. PERIOD. How much more disappointed can I get?? I was like, What?? NO!! This can't be! You Collins cannot let me hang in this great turn of the ride! But of course, she can really do it to me right? *sighs* she's the author and I would hold my self waiting for a year now, anticipating for the last installment of the series.
That's why sometimes I hated reading a series that aren't finish yet.
But nevertheless, I really liked this book! <3 ...more

Finally! I knew these people were ready to revolt! Collins is very good at keeping her books unpredictable. I appreciate her characterization of the main character, Catniss. Catniss lives in a sea of uncertainty and self-doubt . . . very realistic for a sixteen/seventeen-year-old girl in those circumstances.

This book lived up to my expectations. I love this series and will be anxiously awaiting the next book. I would highly recommend this book. This book series is in my top 5 of favorite book series.

Prior to reading I wrote:
I will have a hard time not dropping what I am reading when this book becomes available. I am itching to continue the story. Love the strong female character.

I loved this book. Read one and two right in a row and so they seem like one to me. Love the characters. Seriously could Peta be any sweeter. I really hope they end up together. And I cannot wait for the next one. August is too far away!

LOVED IT. Suzanne Collins is a damn good writer. Once I started this one (as with the Hunger Games) all I wanted to do was finish it but then I was sad that it was over. I can't wait for book three. ...more
