Violent. Deus ex machina solutions to serious problems. The author tries to add sexual tension to the story to further the plot, but the pace is so rushed that the sexual tension falls rather flat: it doesn't have time to build before she's off, onto other topics and events. aww, this book was better than the city of bones..i pity Jace and Clary alot especially when the queen of faerie said that Clary can only leave by a kiss. That chapter was really funny when Jace said to Simon, "I knew it, you want to kiss me!"..lolz, that was really funny. Wow! This series is SO good! I was a little taken back by the ending of the first book, but now that I've read the second one (although it didn't fix my earlier problem, or weirdness with the book) I have developed a love for the characters and am swept away by this series! I am loosing sleep over this series! It's sooo good! Keeps you thinking and wondering what's going to happen with Clary, Jace & Simon.

When I was finished with this book, I was loosing sleep and couldn't get the story out of my head!! I seriously needed to get back into my life so I Kindled the last book so I could read the last chapter!!
